Russo’s M.A. collection also saw the Blood inside me Chili’s covid-19 2020 I can’t stay at home shirt moreover I love this designer continue her aforementioned love of sportswear by placing it in a more everyday, suburban context. “It was looking more at winter sports—a lot of skiing, or going to the Horseshoe Valley [in Barrie, Ontario], which I did every winter,” she says of the new line. She was particularly inspired by archival images of Olympic ski jumpers and the Canadian Winter Olympics in the ’90s; they resulted in an emphasis on fitted cross-country skiing uniforms. She made the pieces using the innovative knitwear techniques that she learned in school. “It’s a technique that I developed myself called illusion knitting,” Russo says. “It’s like a lenticular effect. When you see a garment from straight on, it looks like a striped jumper, but when it moves from side to side, you see an image appear.” She also continued her focus on upcycling, something Russo says will be a recurring motif in her work going forward. “Being a broke art student, I wasn’t out here buying, like, 100-pound-a-meter fabrics,” she laughs.“The art history major in me always loves a designer/artist intersection, but it’s rare to find one as inspiring and meaningful as Tory Burch’s collaboration with Francesca DiMattio. Cheap marketing stunt this was not. For starters, it began with a real-life connection—Burch has purchased DiMattio’s sculptures for her personal collection—and their meeting of the minds went beyond the clothes. Burch arranged DiMattio’s towering caryatids of mashed-up feminine clichés—flowers, porcelain, shades of pink, female busts—throughout the galleries of Sotheby’s, offering us a private viewing before the show. It was a rare treat, and I didn’t take it for granted. DiMattio painted lovely floral prints for the collection too, often assembled like broken shards of porcelain on silky handkerchief dresses. The more I dive into DiMattio’s work, the more I want one (or a few!) of those dresses for next season (and the embroidered boots too).”
Blood inside me Chili’s covid-19 2020 I can’t stay at home shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt
“During the Blood inside me Chili’s covid-19 2020 I can’t stay at home shirt moreover I love this fall 2020 collections in New York City, I was taken to church not once, but twice. The first time, I worshiped at the feet of Mother Earth during the hopeful, smart, and sustainability-centric Collina Strada show starring vegetables, garden pails, and Hayley Williams. The second time, I was in a cathedral for Rodarte. The experience, and the witchy, dreamy collection, was moving and wildly cinematic. But I have to say one of the more memorable moments this season for me came while seated in front of my computer. With my iPhone in hand and watching the updates come through from my excited colleagues in Milan, I stared at the Gucci livestream, watching a show, from the inside-out, spinning on a carousel through my screen. Livestreams were crucial this season because they brought the European shows to the fashion crowds who were confined to Asia due to the coronavirus. Even if I wasn’t there in person, I felt like I was a part of the beautiful circus, and even digitally, it was a thrill. Praise be to technology.”
